I am from out of town, but spend a few weeks a year in RVA. This is by far the best coffee that I've found in the area, and one of my favorite coffee shops in the country. They expertly pull every shot with attention to detail and care. The drip is also delicious and always fresh. They don't have lots of syrups and flavors (only vanilla) but that is because the coffee speaks for itself and isn't need of added flavoring. If you love coffee, Paix is a place you must check out when in RVA.

Great coffee and a great vibe. Their hot latte was well crafted. Milk was not too hot and well frothed. They had an attached shop which gave a rustic vibe. A very enjoyable experience.

I have travelled extensively all over the U.S for work. I have been to hundreds of coffee shops/roasters in all of the major cities and secondary cities. It’s a passion and a hobby. Paix is without a doubt one of the absolute best coffee roasters anywhere. THE BEST BEANS WITH THE MOST FLAVOR!! No b.s. i have tried four different blends so far. The beans are so good I decided to subscribe to their monthly program. It costs more but it’s absolutely worth it to have that bright spot every morning.

Very solid coffee. Cool cozy vibe, I feel like this shop has a different feel compared to other coffee shops in the area—maybe a more polished/artsy lamplighter? I don’t think the connected shop really adds anything to the experience but I also don’t think it detracts. Pretty small space though so I probably wouldn’t come with a big group!

Paix is an a one-of-a-kind coffee shop! It has a unique vibe, with every detail thoughtfully curated. The espresso is so clean and smooth, the purest espresso I’ve ever had. Also the vintage clothing store connected to the coffee shop inside is also a great feature. There is also a nice outdoor seating area in the back that is great on a nice day. The only things I don’t love would be that the espresso is sweeter and more floral rather than rich, nutty and chocolatey, and they don’t really make drip coffee (they have it but it’s more of an afterthought and often their pot is empty and have to brew a fresh pot).

This is hands down the best coffee in the Museum District and one of the top 3 shops in town without a doubt. They are roasting the most unique single origin coffees in town right now. Take time to check out the attached Rexco vintage shop while you’re there. 5 min walk from VMFA.

To be honest, Paix coffee are the best coffee in Richmond. Very high level trained baristas that know how to make for you the best cup of coffee. And their beans feel like from heaven. You should go there is you in Virginia Richmond

Since first visiting back in 2024, I have not stopped buying Paix coffee. We loved it so much that we would drive 30 minutes from Midlothian to Downtown just to get our coffee early in the morning. We tell everyone about it, even now being back in Phoenix. We love it so much that we still order their beans for shipping so we can enjoy the same good taste at home. Cannot recommend enough, they have mastered the art of roasting and making coffee.

If you take coffee seriously - don’t miss this absolute gem. This review is far overdue - I first stumbled across Paix a few years back when they were a pop up cart. They surprised me with the quality of coffee, service, and knowledge from day one, and they’ve grown exponentially since! As a self proclaimed coffee nerd, I’d stack their coffee against some of the top coffee shops in the country (I travel a lot so this isn’t just blowing hot air). The caliber and selection of coffee they sling is shocking. On top of this, their cafe space is beautiful and owns a unique vibe - the crowning jewel being their custom lever espresso machine. Each time I visit, Dan or Seth excitedly tell me about what’s on rotation and what new roast they’re going to have dropping. This is a singular coffee experience that is enjoyable to the coffee novice or the connoisseur.
